Hi. I’m Aby!

I grew up in Trail, BC, a small town tucked away in the West Kootenays, and loved it. There’s something about growing up in a place where everyone knows each other that just felt right. I spent a lot of my childhood outside—camping with my family, hiking in the mountains, playing sports. I’m the oldest of four kids (two brothers and a sister), so I had a very busy household growing up. When it came time for university, I headed to Victoria to study Marine Biology with a minor in Earth and Ocean Science. Before starting this degree, I was working at the aquarium out in Sidney teaching school programs and leading outdoor activities and camps. These days I am trying to get outside whenever I am not busy with school, whether that’s doing some tidepooling, hiking/walking, or just poking around learning about whatever the animals I come across. When I’m not doing that, I’m usually reading on my couch or watching my favourite shows.
